“My mentors taught me that mastery cannot be rushed, and in my own vision I always knew this is true. My true focus is on values; this is what makes each artwork pop whether it is on skin or paper. With tattooing, preparing is the most important first step and taking my time with the needle to create smooth blends at a lower speed with a slower hand creates a perfect execution that in a way merges with the skin and it’s not traumatically butchered in. Of course, this is a longer process, but it is my own that I’ve developed with guidance and knowledge of working with some of the world’s best. I would rather take my time to make sure it is perfect than to rush. Patience is detrimental to each piece, and for next level work these are vital foundations. About Ashton Jacobs

Ashjworldwide is the professional identity of Ashton Jacobs, one of South Africa’s most accomplished tattoo artists, recognised for his expertise in black and grey realism and his international professional career.

After building his reputation in South Africa, Ashton was scouted by leading studios abroad and took his career to Canada, where he worked as a professional realism specialist at the well-known collective Chronic Ink and later held an elite residency at the renowned Heartless Ink in Toronto. That time abroad shaped his craft and placed his work within the international tattoo community.

His work is defined by sculpture-inspired realism, intricate compositions, and a meticulous understanding of light, shadow, depth, and texture. Each piece reflects a considered approach to composition, technical precision, and artistic individuality.

Now based in Johannesburg, Ashton continues to refine his signature approach to realism, creating custom work for collectors who value exceptional craftsmanship, originality, and a distinctive artistic vision.
